CLIMB WORKS

My baby sister works at Climb Works (well not at the moment because she is living it up in Hawaii for a month!!!) They just posted their new promo video and the girl waving 18 seconds in has on one of my headbands! I was pretty excited!

Now that I have survived summer school and had a week vacation in Charleston I finally have time to post some new headbands I have made.

They are $10 and you choose if you want it on an elastic headband, regular headband or bobby pin.

tackling the sewing machine

For my newest headbands I will be selling, I have to tackle the sewing machine. I have been wanting to learn how to really sew for a long time. So we pulled out my moms sewing machine which is probably older than me, but it works. I have seen my mom sew so much that I felt like I kind of knew what I was doing. I messed up several times and am not the best at straight lines, but it is work in progress.

I want to show you the different ways people are wearing the hair accessories. I am working on getting pictures from those who have already purchased one. If you have purchased one, take a picture when you wear it and e-mail it to me!

The first feature customer is my friend Paloma (who has a blog you should check out). She was going to a wedding and wanted this neutral, grey, & white piece to go with her navy dress and neutral shoes. I got to meet her to deliver her purchase and put it in her hair. It looked super cute!

170 days until I graduate!!

TOMS

If you know me, you know I love TOMS! If I were not a poor student, I would own pretty much every pair. Today they launched a new 'one for one' product. Sunglasses. The idea is for every pair of sunglasses you purchase, TOMS will help give sight to a person in need. If you are like me and wear contacts/glasses you know how difficult it is to get around without your glasses. Imagine never being able to get glasses and going your whole life unable to see. After watching this video I am again reminded of the little things I take for granted. My glasses. What a huge blessing it is to have the means to get glasses and contacts.

I think the whole idea of this company is amazing. They have already provided shoes for over a million people in third world countries. AMAZING! I would absolutely love to work for TOMS or be a part of their shoe drops. If you don't know much about the company click here and you can see what they are all about.

Wedding Season

Since it is wedding season and many people in my life are starting to get married I decided to try to do a few that could be used for wedding. Here is one I have done:

It is hard to tell by the pictures, but all three flowers are actually 3 different types of material.

If you are getting married soon and are interested let me know. I can do different things, add colors for brides maids, etc. They can be put on bobby pins so they can be placed anywhere in your hair. 

When I get time I will try to make some different ones and post them for you to see!

Clearly I had artistic abilities at a young age.

Last Christmas my grandmother found this "ornament" I made her in 1992, so I was 6. I drew me giving a present to my grandmother on a piece of notebook paper and put a string through the top of it so she could hang it on her tree. I am sure she was so excited to see this beautiful art work she HAD to hang on her tree. When I saw it I just laughed.

I have finally taken the time to make a blog! I am not sure if that is a good thing or not yet, but non-the-less I have one.

I hope to use this blog to share with you things I am doing and random things I come across.

There is a tab at the top labeled 'For Sale'. I will be posting things there I have made and am selling. I currently only have headbands I have made over the last few days, but will soon have other things. Make sure you check back often to see if there is anything new!

Another tab is labeled 'My Work". This tab has some paintings I have done in the past. I currently only have two there, but will be adding more when I get good pictures of them.
